FAQ

1. Are all pieces one-of-a-kind?

Yes. Each ceramic piece is handmade individually, so no two works are exactly the same. Variations in size, shape, glaze flow, and texture are natural characteristics of handmade ceramics — and part of their beauty.

2. What kind of variations should I expect?

Subtle differences may include small iron spots, tiny pinholes, throwing lines, uneven glaze, slight bumps, or natural curves. These are not defects, but traces of the maker’s hand and kiln, which make each piece unique.

3. How do you package fragile ceramics?

Every item is protected with layered cushioning and secure packing designed specifically for ceramic shipping. We take great care to ensure safe delivery and use eco-friendly materials whenever possible.

4. What happens if something arrives damaged?

In the rare case of shipping damage, please contact us within 72 hours with photos of the packaging and the piece.
To help us support you quickly, we recommend recording the unboxing process when you receive your order.

5. Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, we are not able to offer exchanges for the same item.
If you decide to return your piece, we’ll process a refund instead.
If you find another piece you love, please place a new order separately.

6. How long does shipping take?

Orders are shipped from Seattle within 1–3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).
Delivery time may vary depending on your location and carrier schedules.

7. Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the United States only.
For customers in Seattle and nearby areas, we offer direct local delivery to your doorstep.

8. Is the tableware food-safe?

Yes. All pieces are made with food-safe materials and glazes suitable for everyday use.

9. Can I use ceramics in the microwave or dishwasher?

Yes, most pieces can be used in the microwave and dishwasher.
Please refer to the product page for specific details on each item.

10. How can I leave a review if each piece is unique?

Since we don’t repeat the same items, reviews reflect the overall experience of collecting with ChopChop — packaging, delivery, and the handmade character of the work — rather than a specific SKU.
You can share feedback on our Customer Reviews page.

11. Where do the artists come from?

All current artists are based in China, primarily in Jingdezhen, the historic capital of Chinese ceramics.
These works are not mass-produced — each artist creates their own small-batch pieces with a personal style.

12. Why do handmade pieces cost more?

Each piece is shaped, glazed, and fired individually.
The price reflects the time, skill, and craft behind a one-of-a-kind object — rather than mass production.

13. How do I care for my ceramic piece?

Please refer to our Care Guide for detailed care instructions.
